March & April Updates

We hope everyone’s had a great Easter this year and has had an easier time these months than us- April 2019 marks 2 years of Knights Reforged going live and we can’t believe how fast the time has gone. We’ve had more road blocks this last month than we have since we first released so progress has been very slow, but present nonetheless! Catch up on what’s been happening below.

Updates:

  • Issue with gear inflation re-appearing fixed
  • Few broken images updated & fixed
  • Name change purchase issue fixed
  • Item selling update fixed
  • Minor forum updates
  • Large-scale spam account removal

Features in Progress:

  • Overhaul for iOS operations (this now includes the addition of a feature to alert device updates to avoid future errors)
  • New major security feature (an announcement on the forum will follow the release of this)
  • New in-game item purchasing options
  • New Ancient Points purchasing options
  • New in-game items (non-loot items)
  • New quest feature

As mentioned at the start of the post, we’ve had major road blocks that have caused us to have significant delays with regards to updates as well as our response rate to our support line. One of these unfortunately remains the high level of cheaters who purposefully spam our dedicated servers to take up our time. The other has been related to the business operations itself and the legal work required in the background to ensure everything is kept up to date and running smoothly. The last has been a major software update from Apple which has resulted in resources having to be diverted to update the bulk of the game for iOS users to ensure the game can remain running for them (users of newer iOS devices may have already noticed a range of issues in the game, and this is what we are currently trying to address). In between this, we have had to do some traveling as well as face some external issues such as severe storm weather cutting services off to us or hardware malfunctions leading to loss of data.

We’ve had concerned users emailing our support line commenting that an old rumor has resurfaced about the game and our business being in the process of closing down. As always, we can confirm that this is not the case. We are very much active in the background, albeit struggling for time these last couple of months. Likewise, we have had questions surrounding our business revenue and how this is being used; we’d like to take this opportunity to highlight that we are indeed a business and are not a non-profit group/charity. We choose to provide this game for free as our own personal choice, and greatly appreciate those who choose to make the completely optional choice of purchases in-game. Above all else, this revenue goes into the upkeep of the game and business operations overall which includes, but is not limited to, things such as dedicated servers, domain hosting, business registration and tax accounting and developer certificates across both Google and Apple stores. We hope one day to be able to make this business our full time jobs but with what’s currently provided, we would not be able to survive and therefore have to continue working other jobs outside of this to pay for food and bills, and are unable to consider employment opportunities at this stage.

We hope you enjoyed these months’ updates, and as always any questions, problems or feedback can be sent direct to us on our support line (we are open to communication 7 days a week with a varying response rate of 1-3 business days).
